A resident of Mandalay Division who spoke to Burma Election Tracker said: "I didn't vote because the military regime always made up their minds and I believe nothing will change."

Members of USDP canvasses for votes in polling stations on election day / USDP ပါတီ၀င္မ်ားမွမဲရံုအတြင္းမဲဆြယ္စည္းရံုးျခင္း။

Citizens inside Burma have reported to Burma Election Tracker that in a village in Mandalay Division, members of the USDP canvassed for votes at the village polling station by offering flags, pamphlets and by asking openly and candidly to vote for their party until noon of election day.

Village authority brings voters to his office to collect forced advance votes for USDP / ေက်းရြာအာဏာပုိင္မွUSDPအတြက္ၾကိဳတင္မဲထည့္ခိုင္းျခင္း။

Inside networks reporting from Burma told Burma Election Tracker that in Mandalay Division, the president of a local Ward Peace and Development Council (also the president of the same village's election commission), called the villagers to his office one day before the election and asked more than 500 people to vote for USDP in front of him.

Inside networks operating in Burma have reported to Burma Election Tracker that a President of Ward Peace and Development Council (village authorities) in Mandalay Division spoke from a loudspeaker and told all the villagers to come and vote and that the absentees would be punished with one year imprisonment and fined 100 000 Kyats (nearly 100 $).

13 year old foced to vote for USDP, while other voters are refused access to vote in Mandalay |အသက္မျပည့္သူအား အတင္းမဲလိမ္ေပးခိုင္ျခင္းႏွင့္ မဲရံုပိတ္ခ်ိန္မေရာက္ခင္၊ မဲစာရင္းမေရတြက္ခင္ USDPမွအႏုိင္ရသည္ဟု ထုတ္ျပန္ျခင္း။

An inside network in in Mandalay Division advised Burma Election Tracker that a Ward Chairperson took a 13 year old person to the polling station and forced the child to vote for USDP. At 10:30 am in the morning, the Polling Station Commission announced that all the 3,000 eligible voters had cast their votes already and USDP had a landslide victory. A voter went to the polling station at 3:00 pm in the afternoon to vote and was told that he had already voted. The voter explained that he had not cast a vote yet and would complain to the police. He was finally allowed to cast a vote.

Uneducated voters assisted by USDP and tricked into voting for the party

Inside networks reported that uneducated voters at polling stations in the Mandalay division were asking for help on how to vote and that the USDP assisted them by ticking USDP on ballot slip and then directed them to vote.

Voter in Mandalay Division felt pressured to vote for USDP because USDP representatives were at the polling place watching him vote

A voter in Mandalay Division spoke to Burma Election Tracker and said, "I was not free to vote. USDP was watching us vote, so I voted for them. Also, I did not have enough knowledge about the election."

Many voters throughout Burma reported USDP candidates violating election laws by campaigning in polling places or intimidating voters by watching them closely while they cast their ballots.

Citizen in Mandalay Division chooses to boycott election because of unfairness သပိတ္ေမွာက္၍မဲမေပးၾက

A voter spoke to Burma Election Tracker and said: "We boycotted and did't vote because of unfairness."

Throughout Burma, some citizens exercised their right to boycott the election and not vote.
