A citizen in Shan State who spoke to Burma Election Tracker described the lack of voter education. "I didn't vote. I'm a student. There's no public educational awareness and explanation regarding election, and people know nothing."

A citizen in Shan State who spoke to Burma Election Tracker noted the lack of voter education. "We did not know we had to cast votes. No one informed us. No one in our community could vote."

မဲေပးရမည္ကုိမသိပါ။မည္သူမွလဲလာေရာက္ေျပာျပျခင္းမရွိပါ။မိမိတို ့ေဒသရွိလူမ်ားအားလံုးဘယ္သူမွမဲမေပးရပါ။

The cost spent by the villages which had to take responsibility for the refreshment in Tantyan township, Northen Shan state were 200,000 Kyats from Lonmone village group, 40,000 from Hwaykyain village group, 180,000 from winemai village group, 200,000 from Homain village group, 170,000 from Naungkhan village group and 150,000 deom Narrlong village gorup.

A voter from Shan State who spoke to Burma Election Tracker said: "During the time before the election, we were persuaded and ordered to vote for the USDP. On the election day, I voted for Kayan Party. The military collected early votes for USDP. There were many people who had to vote for the government officials. There was no electoral education at all."

A voter from Shan State who spoke to Burma Election Tracker said: "It was not easy to vote because USDP stood near voters, closely watched and told them to tick the box for USDP. USDP threatened people, 'What do you think will happen to you if you don't vote for USDP?'"

These kinds of violations have been pervasive in Burma's election.

A voter from Shan State who spoke to Burma Election Tracker said: "Officials themselves committed fraud and vote rigging. Advanced votes were collected to make USDP triumphant. I want to talk about those things but I am also worried about getting arrested."
