USDP abuses advance votes in Pegu Division (ပဲခူးတိုင္းတြင္ ၾကိဳတင္မဲမ်ားကို ၾကံ့ဖြံ႕ အလြဲသံုးစားျပဳလုပ္)

A citizen in Pegu Division who spoke to Burma Election Tracker described a personal experience with USDP's abuse of advance votes and overheard stories of other violations.

"I was told that USDP member ID would be temporarily provided. No fingerprint required. I went back home but could not vote on the election day because my vote was collected in advance. Village officials in charges of ten households recorded household registration lists and ID numbers from us. They said if we provided them with household member list and ID numbers, then we could stay without voting. They asked everyone to join USDP and vote. This is a national matter. I heard that people in other places were told that they would be fined if they didn’t join USDP. The polling station was at a school and people were informed that electricity would be cut if they didn’t vote for USDP. I am not interested in this election and have no expectation from it. Polling stations opened at 8:00 am and closed at 6:00 pm. No one could observe votes being counted."

ျကံ့ခိုင္ေရးက မွတ္ပံုေတြ ယာယီထုတ္ေပးမယ္။ လက္ေဗြႏွိပ္စရာမလုိဘူး။ အိမ္ျပန္ခဲ့တယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ့ မဲမေပးခဲ့ဘူး။ ဘာျဖစ္ဆုိေတာ့ ျကုိတင္ေကာက္သြားခဲ့တယ္။ သန္းေခါင္းစာရင္ေတြ မွတ္ပံုတင္နံပါတ္ေတြ ဆယ္အိမ္မွဴးေတြက ေကာက္သြားခဲ့တယ္။ သန္းေခါင္စာရင္းႏွင့္ မွတ္ပံုတင္နံပါတ္တုိ႔ ေပးလုိက္ရင္ မဲမထည့္ရင္လည္း ရတယ္လုိ့ သူတုိ့ေျပာတယ္။ မိသားစုတုိင္းကုိ ျကံ့ခုိင္ေရး၀င္ခုိင္းတယ္။ မဲေပးဖုိ့လာေျပာသြားတယ္။ ျမန္မာလူမ်ဳိးအားလံုးနဲ႔ဆုိင္တယ္။ သူမ်ားေဒသမွာဆုိရင္ ျကံ့ခုိင္ေရး၀င္ခုိင္းတယ္။ မ၀င္ရင္ ရုိက္မယ္လုိ့ျကားမိတယ္။ မဲရံုးက စာသင္ေက်ာင္းမွာ လုပ္တယ္။ USDP ပါတီကုိ မဲမထည့္ေပးရင္ မီးျဖတ္မယ္လုိ႔ေျပာတယ္။ ဒီေရြးေကာက္ပြဲကုိ စိတ္မ၀င္စားဘူး။ ဘာေမွ်ာ္လင့္ခ်က္မွ မရိွဘူး။ မဲရံုးက နံနက္ ၈ နာရီဖြင့္ျပီး ညေန ၆ နာရီ ပိတ္သြားတယ္။ မဲရည္တဲ့အခ်ိန္မွာ ျကည့္ခြင့္မရိွပါဘူး။
